In The Mood for Techno Queen Nicole Moudaber?

Undisputed Queen of Techno Nicole Moudaber is no stranger to playing in Dubai. The DJ and producer is back in the Emirate on Friday 26 November. This time Nicole will unleash her killer beats at Palmarama Dubai, as the Ibiza club night continues its UAE residency at White Beach.

Unstoppable, Nicole lands in Dubai following a recent seven-date tour of North America. The Mood Records boss rocked sets in Vegas, San Bernardino, Denver, Miami, Toronto and Orlando. But her In The Mood party at New York’s Avant Gardner was particularly epic. Curated by Nicole, her party concept incorporated fashion, visuals, technology and, of course, music. Naturally, the line-up was sick too. Skunk Anansie’s Skin, Luigi Madonna and Chris Liebing all rocked the joint. And after two previous sets that night, Nicole joined forces with Liebing for their first back-to-back set in five years. Nicole says the party was “a vibe from start to finish”, adding: “Everything was on point.”

Born in Nigeria and of Lebanese-Nigerian descent, Nicole Moudaber was initially captivated by clubs in New York City. As a promoter she threw parties in her hometown of Beirut – baiting authorities in the process. Moving to London, Nicole staged parties at the city’s legendary Turnmills venue. Switching from promoter to DJ, her rise through the dance world is incredible.

One-Woman Army

Today, Nicole Moudaber is synonymous with techno. She is a one-woman army who is, in her own words, “uncensored, inclusive and fierce”. Her A&R skills are on-point too, with a fine mix of contemporary talent signed to her Mood Records label. Recent releases on the imprint include Justin Jay’s Determination EP and Josh Butler’s Change the Line EP.

When she’s not ripping up dancefloors, Nicole keeps the music flowing into fans’ ears via her In The Mood radio show. Almost 400 episodes deep, the show often boasts mixes from some of the scene’s biggest techno heavyweights as well as up-and-comers.

Jump onboard when the  Moudaber train pulls into Palmarama Dubai on Friday. It’s table reservations only so call White Beach on (0)54 5822778 to book.
