Heads Up: LOR is One To Watch

LOR

Keep your eyes and ears peeled for electronic producer LOR, a modern day expressionist whose music is a gateway into a fantastical world of wonder. In the Realm of LOR imagination takes flight through music, art and technology. Within this self-created artistic realm, LOR — AKA Taylor Harrison — unifies pioneering technology with boundless creativity to trigger emotion through audio and visual art.

Running the gamut from introspective to dancefloor-friendly, LOR’s music channels both electronic and indie influences. The young LA-based producer’s Chapter 1 series of tracks has a real sense of narrative, journeying from melodic house heartbreak, through resilient bass sounds and then growing empowered with edgy and textured electro.

Sounds Like

Bittersweet Kingdom Falling – already snapped up by a renowned label – takes you right to the heart of LOR’s cosmic and cinematic world with robot voices sounding like Daft Punk on a comedown. The smooth synth craft of Let’s Get Started is nailed to an optimistic funky rhythm. The perfectly melancholic chords of Down We Go allow you a moment to wallow, while What You Say puffs out its chest with powerful guitar riffs ringing out through the rolling grooves.

Uncertain ups the ante with glitchy synths and jostling broken beats marching into battle. The Same Shit – which you can listen to here – has a dynamic bassline driving it forward beneath more vocoder vocals and crunchy hits. And the oh-so-beautiful Dragon Tears suspends you amongst the stars with floaty broken beats and heavily treated vocals adding forlorn android soul.

Emotive

Described as “alternative indie electronica” or “electronic goth”, LOR’s music is too heterogeneous to be pigeon-holed, and all the better for it. These are deeply emotive electronic songs rather than disposable club tracks; dynamic pieces of music that capture very real emotions in fresh new ways. Whether you like the contemporary sci-fi techno of Space Dimension Controller, filtered joys of classic French touch or the current prog house resurgence, LOR’s music is more than worthy of your ear.

What’s more, LOR is experimenting with technology to enhance the live experience. His live show — currently in development — will transport audiences into the Realm of LOR through augmented reality, hologram technology, smell-o-vision, 3D dome projection mapping and numerous artistic mediums. This talented lad is going places: you heard it here first.
