Why This Exhibition at the Theatre of Digital Art is Awesome!
Getting lost in the beauty of the ‘From Monet to Kandinsky’ exhibition, at Dubai’s Theatre of Digital Art, is a rather lovely way to take a break from the world. Simply relax on a fat beanbag as famous paintings comes to life on the walls and ceiling of the city’s newest art space, while a soundtrack of classical music plays in surround sound.
The Theatre of Digital Art is the latest addition to Dubai’s art scene, which opened in Souk Madinat Jumeirah recently. The 45-minute immersive exhibition features the celebrated works of Claude Monet, Vincent Van Gogh, Edvard Munch, Georges Seurat, Paul Cézanne, Juan Gris, Robert Delaunay, Paul Klee and Wassily Kandinsky – all cleverly animated.
Step Inside
It’s like stepping inside famous painting, as Van Gogh’s sunflowers tumble past and his almond blossom catches in an imaginary breeze. Dive under Monet’s water lilies and watch the famous face in Edvard Munch’s ‘The Scream’ stretch and melt before your very eyes (we’ve looked similar after tumbling out of an all-night party into daylight).
With five-minute sections for each artist, the exhibition glides through a number of artistic styles, from impressionism to cubism, and it’s well worth a visit.
The Theatre of Digital Art is the brainchild of European digital production house Vision Multimedia Projects Company, who’ve been designing, producing and touring similar exhibitions since 2014. Over 1.5 million people have enjoyed their shows in major cities in Russia, Germany, Thailand and Saudi Arabia.
With tickets priced from AED75, ‘From Monet to Kandinsky: Revolutionary Art’ will run at the Theatre of Digital Art throughout December. Then we’re hoping Vision Multimedia’s ‘Italian Renaissance: Leonardo, Michelangelo, Rafael’ will be the next exhibition to come to town.
Oh, and here’s a little heads up… you can redeem the price of your ticket at a number of Souk Madinat F&B venues, including Perry & Blackwelder’s, McGettigan’s and Belgian Beer Café, among others.
