UK Duo Camelphat Close Out Palmarama Dubai on NYE
All good things must come to an end – but they can go out with a big old bang! Ibiza party Palmarama has made its mark on the UAE’s clubbing scene in recent months. Now the Palmarama Dubai weekly residency at White Beach is heading for a spectacular close on New Year’s Eve with Camelphat. German DJ Loco Dice and US jock Layla Benitez join the UK duo on the line-up.
House heads instantly associate Camelphat – Liverpool lads Dave Whelan and Mike Di Scala – with their club anthem Cola. The infectious house tune was the ubiquitous track of 2017. It went gold status in ten countries and platinum status in ten more. The DJ and production duo have remained in demand ever since, playing at the best clubs and festivals worldwide. Their 2020 debut album, Dark Matter, features guest appearances from Maverick Sabre, Ali Love and Noel Gallagher.
Desolat Records chief Loco Dice wears his hip-hop influences on his sleeve. His sets blend together his love of classic techno, boompty house and hip-hop sensibilities. Layla Benitez, meanwhile, channels an eclectic mix of deep house with percussion, world harmonies and soul sounds.
Top-Flight
Palmarama Dubai launched at the Atlantis The Palm venue in October with Crosstown Rebels boss Damian Lazarus headlining. Top-flight DJs – including Jamie Jones, Artbat, Black Coffee, Joseph Capriati, Maceo Plex, Nicole Moudaber and more – have followed each week since.
Don’t leave the last Palmarama Dubai party of the year – and the residency – to chance. Call +971 54 5822778 to book your spot. The shenanigans kick off at 8pm on Friday, 31 December, and minimum table spend is AED4000. Here’s hoping Palmarama Dubai returns again later in 2022.
