Dubai Hip-Hop Artist TheRealMood Releases New Single

Emerging hip-hop artist TheRealMood dissects the battle going on inside his head in new track 2 Moods. Drawing lyrical inspiration from his mental health struggles, he reveals his conflicting inner dialogue over releasing music. The lyrics are raw and honest. Over a bed of laidback drums, tinkling keys and subtle strings, the Dubai-based rapper admits: “It’s me, judging me.”

TheRealMood is Mahmoud Shehada, a Palestinian/Canadian native living in Dubai. Known around the Emirate and beyond for his entrepreneurial and business chops, Shehada has recorded more than 50 tracks over the past decade. He sidelined his music aspirations to concentrate on business ventures for years. But now Shehada has fully embraced his musical alter-ego – spurned on by the global pandemic.

Straight-up, classic hip-hop is at the heart of Shehada’s style. There’s no mumble rap, no drill percussion, no “bling bling” lyrics. Instead, Shehada follows the example of MCs like Tupac, early Eminem and Nas.

Two Tracks

TheRealMood has two tracks out in the wide world. Debut single Mind Right dropped in August.

Now comes the follow-up. “2 Moods reflects a conversation between me and myself over releasing music,” said Shehada. Wraps your ears around the Dubai rapper’s latest release below.

Shehada already has an impressive social media following on TikTok and Instagram. With several collaborations in the pipeline, we’ll be hearing more from this promising artist real soon.
