Big Beards Boss Elia Mssawir Hosts Industry Insight Show ‘Behind the Music’

A well-known and respected player in the Middle East music scene, Elia Mssawir wants to help artists generate income from their music. Mssawir hosts a new monthly series – ‘Behind the Music’ – providing insight and inspiration for musicians navigating the entertainment industry.

Founder of Big Beards Entertainment, Mssawir invites “legends from the global music industry” onto his digital show. Delving into their experiences within the industry, guests offer advice to help musicians crack the code for success. In the first episode, Robert Singerman of LyricFind explains how songwriters can make money from their lyrics. Watch that episode below.

A new initiative from Dubai Media City and ON.DXB, ‘Behind The Music’ aims to support budding musicians and help turn emerging talent into success stories. “By sharing the experiences of successful people from a plethora of different industries, we hope to provide a roadmap for emerging musicians and songwriters eyeing their big break,” said Majed Al Suwaidi, Managing Director of Dubai Media City. “By creating a programme that profiles key movers and shakers we hope to augment our efforts to empower talent and enhance Dubai’s creative economy.”

Episode 2 of ‘Behind The Music’ airs live across Dubai Media City’s Facebook page and YouTube channel on Saturday 10th April, from 9pm – 11pm (GST). It features Canadian singer-songwriter David Wimble, founder of Big Meteor Publishing.

Awards

Show host Elia Mssawir founded artist management, booking and events services firm Big Beards Entertainment in 2017. His Dubai-based company has scooped several awards since its formation. In February, Big Beards won the ‘Leading Entertainment Management of the Year 2021’ award from MEA Markets. Mssawir manages Arabic hip-hop artist Freek and others.

Last year, Dubai Media City launched ‘DMC Amplify’ to promote local artists. It’s hosted by Big Hass.
