Anjunadeep’s Leading Ladies Eli & Fur Return to Dubai
British duo Eli & Fur head back to Dubai this weekend. Anjunadeep’s leading ladies return to rock The Penthouse on Thursday 25 November. It’s their second gig at the FIVE Palm Jumeirah lounge in just two months. Now if that’s not a sign of their popularity, we don’t know what is!
We’re big fans of Eli & Fur’s music. Their infectious melodies and driving basslines, topped with their distinguished brooding vocals, tick all the right boxes. The super-talented DJs, producers and singer-songwriters finally released their debut album – Found in the Wild – earlier this year. Created during lockdown, the album glides seamlessly through emotional and wistful tracks that showcase their songwriting prowess into the pair’s more familiar club territory.
“It’s been nice to express the two sides of us and not have limits,” said Fur at the time of the album’s release. “We went with our gut feeling. We are quite varied in the way that we write music and so it made sense to have two parts living side by side. Everything we really love is on the album.”
Great Label
Eli & Fur’s debut studio album was a long time coming. The girls – Eliza Noble and Jennifer Skillman – released their first track back in 2013. You’re So High racked up over 20 million plays online. They collaborated with Shadow Child on follow-up Seeing is Believing before striking up their relationship with Anjunadeep through Feel the Fire.
The leading label for melodic electronic music, Anjunadeep is the perfect home for Eli & Fur’s sound. “They’re a great label to be on,” said Eli. “When you go to an Anjunadeep show or listen to an Anjunadeep artist you’re going to get these emotive, beautiful, interesting layered pieces of music which have a lot of meaning.”
It will be twice as nice when Eli & Fur DJ at The Penthouse on Thursday. If you missed them in September, don’t make the same mistake again. Call (0)52 900 4868 for more info.
