Oblivion Raises the Bar for Desert Parties

Dancing barefoot in the sand with stars twinkling overhead never loses its appeal. The Oblivion takeover at The Dunes Campsite in Ras Al Khaimah is a case in point. The 12-hour event has caught clubbers’ attention – with several camping options sold out just days after going on sale.

Oblivion descends on The Dunes on Friday 29 October. The party kicks off at 4pm with the music pumping through until 4am. Miami-based DJ and producer Stan Kolev headlines the event. The line-up also boasts Eva Voytko, Anthony Drone, Kareem Mohamed, Doomaz and Special K.

Unrivalled

The Oblivion organisers aim to “elevate, in true Dubai style, the status quo” of music entertainment. “We will strive to support the Emirate’s goal of becoming the entertainment hub of the Middle East, in parallel to the rest of the world and eventually unrivalled by any place,” they state.

“Our purpose is to entertain and thrill with the most inspirational music from around the globe, surrounded by wonderful audio and visual creations by artists and performers along with a host of activities and experiences to simultaneously engage and enlighten the senses.”

The Dunes takeover is ‘Chapter 1’ in their mission to shake up the status quo. It offers a range of overnight accommodation options at The Dunes glamping site. Premium and luxury domes are already sold out. The venue’s cute tree-houses are sold out too, as are phase one standard tickets. But fear not, other options are still available. Haunting and Hypnotising

A little bit more about headliner Stan Kolev. Born in Bulgaria, Kolev relocated to Miami at an early age. He began producing music in 1996. His 2003 track De Moma De under his Casa Flava moniker hit UK Top 40 Dance Chart. On a progressive house tip, Kolev favours haunting melodies and hypnotising vocals.
