New Investors Back UAE Talent Booking Platform Soul Artists
Revolutionising the talent booking process, UAE-based platform Soul Artists has received investment of $350,000. Soul Artists will use the cash injection to scale up the innovative peer-to-peer platform and steam ahead with expansion plans.
The brainchild of Jordanian brothers Suhail and Zaid Khoury, Soul Artists allows users to book artists directly and in real-time. “Downloading our app gives users a worldwide talent agency in their pocket – with the power of booking talent with a tap,” explained Suhail.
Showcasing upcoming and premium artists, the digital platform is blowing traditional artist booking procedures out the water. Users currently enjoy access to hundreds of UAE-based artists and performers. Numerous local DJs, including Somalie, Sara G, Off Course, Charl Chaka, Natalie Brogan and Jason Pinto, are using the platform.
Cutting Out The Middleman
So how does it work? Well, entertainment professionals create their own artist page using the platform’s tools. Profiles are free to create and the artists set their own fees. Artists receive free exposure, have easy-to-access portfolios and enjoy payment protection. Cutting out the usual booking agent middleman, users book talent directly. Digital payments are prompt and a customer support team is also on-hand for inquiries or questions.
Soul Artists provides complete transparency in the booking process. “This allows artists to set their own price while users can always rest assured they’re paying a fair fee with an industry low agency rate,” said Suhail. He described Soul Artists as “an escrow between clients and artists, protecting both parties throughout the booking process”.
Investors
Investors are taking note. In 2017, Soul Artists raised $200,000 from a French angel investor. Raised in a bridge funding round, the latest $350,000 cash injection comes from Falak Investment Hub and Wasel. Soul Artists will use the investment to develop its technology and scale up its service. Widening its catalogue of artists, the platform also plans to expand into Saudi Arabia.
