Dubai’s Coca-Cola Arena Re-Opens For Live Events
This is welcome news: Dubai’s Coca-Cola Arena has resumed hosting live events – with new social distancing and hygiene procedures in place, of course.
Coca-Cola Arena chief Guy Ngata said: “We are very pleased to be able to provide live entertainment to the community of Dubai again.” The venue’s CEO added: “There has been a tremendous amount of work implemented across many sectors in Dubai to get to this point, and we are pleased to now open our doors again with the safety of our guests of the utmost importance.”
The largest fully air-conditioned, multi-purpose indoor arena in the Middle East, the 17,000-capacity venue opened last June. Like venues all around the world, it closed in February as the Covid-19 pandemic spread.
Hygiene Protocol
The venue has reopened following discussions with Dubai Municipality, the UAE’s Ministry of Health and Prevention, and the Department of Tourism & Commerce Marketing. Arena management company ASM Global is implementing VenueShield procedures, an environmental hygiene protocol adopted across all of its venues.
“It’s critical that we assure people they are attending a safe environment allowing fans and artists to enjoy an amazing live experience, which we are confident will be the case,” said Ngata.
Fans should only attend live events at the Coca-Cola Arena if they feel well. “It is important that fans are vigilant of their own surroundings and responsible in relation to their own well-being and that of others, in line with the consistent messaging communicated by the government of Dubai over the past months,” Ngata added.
Louis Tomlison’s rescheduled Walls World Tour stops off at the Coco-Cola Arena on Thursday, 10th June, next year. While we won’t exactly be first in line to hear the ex-One Directioner in concert, we’re hoping more big names will pass through the venue soon.
