Great news for Anjunadeep fans! The British label is heading back to the UAE. With label bosses James Grant and Jody Wisternoff at the helm, Anjunadeep Open Air Dubai – the label’s first show of the year – hits town on Saturday 19 February. The day-to-night beach party, at Five Palm Jumeirah, also stars label signings Luttrell, Dosem, Braxton and “one to watch” Mia Aurora.

Consistently serving up gorgeous, melodic deep house, the independent label is one of the finest in the world. It’s A&R team consistently unearth emotive gems. And the label has turned artists like Tinlicker, Ben Böhmer, Lane 8 and Luttrell into global stars.

Grant and Wisternoff’s annual mix is always eagerly awaited by the label’s legions of fans worldwide – us included. Their Anjunadeep 13 compilation will drop on Friday 18 March. “We have so much great music coming this year,” said Grant. “It feels like there’s never been a more exciting time for the label.”

Those lush Anjunadeep vibes will engulf Five’s Beach by Bohemia from 1pm and run through to 9pm. Ticket prices vary and start at AED300, including three drinks.

We’re not exaggerating when we call Anjunadeep one of the best deep house label on the planet. But if you need proof, here are five highlights from the label’s past year alone…

DJ and producer Luttrell – owner of a glorious twiddly moustache – released his third album on the label in December. Music For My Memories blends all three of Lutrell’s EPs of the same name into a continuous mix and features much-loved singles Just a Dream, More Than Human and Operation Midnight.

Legendary producer William Orbit debuted on the label late last year with his four-track Starbeam EP. It was his first solo release in seven years. A pioneer of modern electronica and pop and multi Grammy award winner, Orbit has produced for Madonna, Blur, U2, Robbie Williams, Britney Spears and Beth Orton. Signing Orbit to the label was a real coup for Anjunadeep.

Championing new and emerging artists, Anjunadeep’s Explorations series is 20 EPs deep after the latest was released in October. Marsh, Ben Böhmer, CRi, Just Her and Luttrell all made their label debut via the series, which has introduced over 100 fresh producers from 26 countries to Anjunadeep’s loyal fans. The label states: “These EPs allow us to spread our net a little wider and forge new relationships with talented producers making wonderful music that we’ve fallen in love with.”

Sold out shows at London’s Printworks and New York’s Avant Gardner last year prove that Anjunadeep label showcases are always the hottest ticket in town. And the great gigs keep coming; Anjunadeep finally makes its debut at London clubbing institution Fabric on Saturday, February 26 – just a week after destroying Dubai.
