Oooh, this is tasty! Our friends over at Ibiza Global Radio UAE are emerging from their studio to throw a rather cool beach festival. And the line-up is right up our street! The local dance station’s inaugural Beach Festival stars international heavyweights Mattias Tanzmann, Mano Le Tough and Anja Schneider. The day-to-night affair, on Saturday 19 March, will also showcase a selection of the UAE’s finest DJs.
Moon Harbour Recordings boss Mattias Tanzmann kicked off 2022 by teaming up with fellow German DJ and producer Steve Bug. Together, the dance music dons created Jupiter Jellyfish, released on Hot Since 82’s Knee Deep in Sound label. Tanzmann is one third of the Better Lost Than Stupid trio with Davide Squillace and Martin Buttrich. After releasing his splendid album At The Moment on Pampa Records last year, Irish lad Mano Le Tough unleashed infectious groover Either Way on the DGTL label last month. Berlin-based Sous Music chief, DJ, producer and broadcaster, Anja Schneider is one of our favourite ladies in dance music. Check out Anja’s weekly Club Room sessions to hear the tunes floating her boat. It’s impossible not to get your groove on to Anja’s eclectic selections.
The Ibiza Global Radio UAE DJ family are primed to bring their A-game too. With so many international headliners playing in Dubai each week, our local legends don’t receive the credit they’re due. But trust us when we say the sets from this squad – Sam Farsio, Jixo and Danz
Darko De Jan, Clint Maximus, Xavi Emparan, and Fizzo and Jay – will be fire. Head over to Ibiza Global Radio UAE for proof.
Hitting The Right Spots
Ibiza Global Radio UAE hit the airwaves in August 2020, providing a 24/7 soundtrack for Dubai’s clubheads. Broadcasting on 95.3FM and various streaming platforms, it offers a cool blend of shows from international DJ superstars, Ibiza legends and fantastic local DJs. The station is hitting all the right spots – more than 300,000 listeners tune in each day. “Since launching, we’ve focused on bringing the finest electronic music from around the world to the UAE,” said station boss Theo Makris. “With Dubai’s electronic music scene and diversity growing exponentially, the UAE was ready for this kind of station. Now we’re taking it to the next level with our Beach Festival and we can’t wait to dance in the sand with our listeners.”
The Beach Festival action goes down from noon to 11pm at the new Soul Beach, JA The Resort, Dubai. Tell your cabbie to take Exit 13 off Sheikh Zayed Road. First release tickets are only AED150 so be fast, not last. And if you fancy splurging, call +971 585884953 for table bookings.
