Fedele Ladisa Leaves Agents of Time to Explore “New Musical Frontiers”
The Agents of Time trio is now a duo after Fedele Ladisa left the project to pursue a solo career. Andrea Di Ceglie and Luigi Tutolo will continue under the Agents of Time name.
Andrea and Luigi announced the news via social media. “Fedele has decided to undertake a solo career to explore new musical frontiers,” they said. “Few years ago we embarked on the Obscura project as a lab to experiment and test new genres and styles. Fedele will take over Obscura; he’ll be the sole manager of the label.”
The lads added: “It has been a group decision that we have not taken lightly. The three of us agree it is the right decision with the hope it will bring great results to all of us. It is now time to continue this journey.”
New EP
The Italian duo have a new EP of delicately crafted dancefloor electronics lined up on Guy Gerber’s Rumors label. The Prince of the Stars EP drops on 12th March. After a sneaky preview, iamCrü confirms the EP is a belter.
Mud Battles opens with muted and subdued tones, gently unravelling into a symphonic arrangement of analogue synthesis and 4/4 kick drums. Rise To The Power picks up the pace with shuffling percussion and a series of melodic motifs before moving into an enticing extended breakdown. Prince of the Stars opens with field recordings alongside a skippy, broken beat, carrying the track through a sequence of emotive passages, a theme that continues on final track The King of Our Days. The digital-only Jimmy The Jester is a welcome bonus for USBs worldwide, an acidic, low-slung chugger.
Agents of Time have impressed audiences since 2013 via the likes of Ellum Audio and Kompakt, alongside their own Obscura labels. While waiting for the new EP, check out their Santiago track from late last year.
