Electronic Producer Jake Chudnow Turns to the Beauty of Science
Here’s a lovely treat for your eyes and ears. London-based artist Jake Chudnow makes a welcome return to the fore with his new release, Columbia.
Who is Jake Chudnow, you ask? Well, he’s an electronic music producer, drummer and video/filmmaker, originally from Philadelphia. Chudnow came to attention with his debut release Shona, on Bloc, in 2015. Since its release, Shona has picked up over two million stream on Spotify alone. Mary Anne Hobbs, Dominik Eulberg and Joris Voorn were fans of Chudnow’s debut release.
Now Chudnow is back with his first new music in over five years. Columbia is out now on Glyph Recordings. Designed to inspire listeners to feel removed from their daily patterns and habits, Columbia invites us into a headspace where we can pay attention to things we would otherwise miss.
Beauty of Science
Jake Chudnow called upon the Beauty of Science to create the video for Columbia. Beauty of Science was founded by Yan Liang. He was the main creator behind Beautiful Chemistry, a project that brought the beauty of chemistry to the general public. Its chemical reaction videos have been viewed millions of times and won an Experts’ Choice Award in 2014 – 2015 Vizzies Visualization Challenge organised by NSF and Popular Science magazine.
As you’d expect then, the video for Columbia is stunning. Based around the theme of beautiful disruptions, the video portrays the early formation of the earth, mixing of the elements, sprouting of life and finally human creativity. Check out Columbia and the video below:
Chudnow’s debut track Shona is also well worth checking. It’s an absolute beauty too.
