Dubai Producer Bachir Salloum Scores Career Milestone with Balance Release

Dubai-based DJ and producer Bachir Salloum continues his prolific run of releases – this time with a three-track EP on Australia’s revered Balance label. Bachir dabbles in frequencies ranging from deep to progressive house and each release strengthens his growing reputation. Out now, his Foggy Morning EP features three hypnotic tracks. And releasing on Balance is another career milestone for Bachir.

The Melbourne-based Balance label enjoys a long and refined reputation for working with dance music’s greatest names. Artists from James Zabiela to James Holden, Phil K, Nick Warren, Max Cooper, Hernan Cattaneo, Guy J and Danny Tenaglia have all turned in mixes for the label’s compilation series.

“I remember the first time I listened to the James Holden album on the Balance Series many, many years ago and just how blown away I was by it,” recalls Bachir. “I remember thinking that the dream would be to release on such a label. Fast forward to 2021 and here I am. This label has been on my radar since forever, and I can’t express what an honour it is to be amongst industry legends who also call Balance home.”

The Tracks

Bachir Salloum opts for deep house vibes on the EP’s title track. Foggy Morning delivers unfussy drums, a skippy tone and two-finger bassline, beautifully enhanced by delicate shimmering keys. A slice of deep prog, Sidek demands attention from the first kick drum drop. The infectious climbing bassline works perfectly with the percussion’s impressive compression, while a constantly moving melody turns this into a go-to track that feels like it never stops building. Meanwhile, Random Glitch is an upbeat groover with fun percussive elements, offbeat driving bass and synth stabs. Listen to the title track below.

Top Spots

Earlier this year, Bachir Salloum celebrated two chart-topping tracks within one month. In June, his Limitless release rocketed to the No.1 spot in Beatport’s Top 100 Organic House/Downtempo Chart. His Everything is Now EP climbed to the same position in May.
