Beach Paradise: Ricardo Villalobos is Headlining Musiqtrip Zanzibar
Anxious for DJs to get behind the decks again in Dubai? Us too. Too impatient to wait? Then how does Ricardo Villalobos headlining Musiqtrip Zanzibar tickle your fancy?
Swiss travel agency Musiqtrip and world-renowned nightclub Amnesia Ibiza have teamed up to create a 10-night party session on the beautiful island of Zanzibar. Kicking off on Saturday 6th March, Musiqtrip Zanzibar will feature well-known international DJs providing smooth grooves by the pool or on the beach. Highlights include a ‘Sandbank Rave’ – an intimate party on an offshore sandbar surrounded by the piercing turquoise Indian Ocean. Take a look.
Gang of Seven
A gang of seven DJs will soundtrack Musiqtrip Zanzibar. Ricardo Villalobos (pictured) is the most well-known of the bunch. The Chilean-born German DJ and producer is one of the most revered figures in the minimal techno scene.
Musiq’s Gogo will fly in from Zürich. Ibiza Sonica Radio’s Igor Marijuan, Karlos Sense and Valentin Huedo will fly in from the White Isle, along with Amnesia residents Caal and Mar-T.
Musiqtrip Philosophy
The Musiqtrip concept is beautiful in its simplicity. “We bring wonderful people together and celebrate at the most beautiful locations in the world,” states Musiqtrip. “We are united by our love for electronic music, which represents our philosophy – love, peace, freedom, generosity and tolerance. Together we experience unbelievably beautiful moments that remain in our memories forever.”
Popular Destination
Well, Zanzibar sure is beautiful. With return flights from Dubai to Zanzibar costing less than AED2000, the island is a popular destination for UAE residents. Party people signing up for Musiqtrip Zanzibar can either book accommodation in the B4 Beach Club resort or the nearby B4 Boutique retreat. Both are located on Paje Beach. Find out more at Musiqtrip. In line with Tazmania’s travel regulations, travellers must present a negative Covid test on arrival and departure.
Dubai suspended DJs and live music in hotels and restaurants from 21st January until further notice. Soon after, other entertainment restrictions were put in place until 28th February to combat a spike in Covid-19 cases. With the end of the month just days away, DJs in Dubai will soon find out if they can go back to work in March. Here’s hoping.
