Beshknow Radio Secures Programme Exchange with London’s Soho Radio
Congrats to our friends at Iranian radio station Beshknow. They’ve secured a one-week programme exchange with London’s Soho Radio – promoting regional artists to a wider audience. Running from 9pm – 11pm (GST) each night this week until Sunday, the Beshknow exchange showcases artists from the Middle East and Europe, including well-known Dubai faces Siamak Amidi and Salah Sadeq.
A collective of likeminded DJs, producers and musicians run Beshknow, which is based in Tehran. “Me and my teammates believe in the power and magic of music for connecting people all around the world regardless of skin colour, nationality and language,” said Beshknow co-founder Farzan Badie. “Our plan, since day one, is to collaborate and work with platforms and artists worldwide. This allows us to gain friends in the industry. The one-week programme exchange with Soho Radio is a good opportunity for us to introduce our resident artists and some of the best Iranian bands to London and the world.”
Surprised
The team at Beshknow have curated 13 one-hour shows mapping a wide variety of sounds and styles. Listeners will hear everything from old and rare Iranian music and alternative, folk, funk to deep electronic music. “Soho Radio listeners will experience something new from Iran,” said Farzan. “I think they’ll be surprised to hear such sounds coming out from an Iranian radio station.”
Farzan tips his hat to Beshknow teammates Maryam Razi and Dariush Sardari for making the programme exchange possible. Soho programmes will air on Beshknow mid-November. If you haven’t tuned into Beshknow already, wrap your ears around some great music on the station here.
