Despite the challenges, 2020 has been a pretty monumental year for British DJ and producer Joel Corry. His track Head & Heart, featuring MNEK, was the ubiquitous tune of the summer. It topped the UK charts for six consecutive weeks and dented the US Billboard Hot 100.
Head & Heart racked up over one million sales in the UK – the first British record to hit the milestone this year. The accompanying video has been watched over 100 million times on YouTube.
Brightening Up Your Day
“It came at a time when the world needed a positive, uplifting song and a track that’s gonna brighten up people’s days,” Joel Corry told Billboard. “I think that’s what this track does.
“The weirdest thing about this single, for me, is I never tested it in a nightclub or played it in front of a crowd during the production process,” added Corey. “I’m dreaming of those days when the festivals come back and I can play that record in front of thousands of people.”
Corry’s festival diary for next year will fill up quickly. He’ll play at the Foreverland Berlin Summer Weekender, 24th – 27th July, with Shy FX and Skepsis. He’s also on the line-up for the Abode Las Vegas takeover (30th September – 5th October), with East End Dubs, Green Velvet, Skream and Solardo.
Corry’s previous tracks Lonely Lonely and Sorry also went platinum. His remix of Pink Sweat$’ At My Worst is out now.
The DJ and producer will play at Dubai beach club Zero Gravity on New Year’s Eve. Tickets for the special dinner party are AED1200 per person and include unlimited food and beverages between 8pm and 1am. This one will likely to sell out fast. Hit up Zero Gravity for more info.
