Dubai’s Escape crew are killing it. The brainchild of Bachir Salloum and Abeer Al Zubaidi, this party is rocking every week at SoBe. Their selection of DJs – both international and local – is consistently on-point. And here’s the proof. British DJ and producer Tim Green headlines Escape on Thursday 4 November. This one will be epic.

If you need convincing – and you really shouldn’t – here are 10 good reasons to hear Tim Green headline at Escape…

1.

Tim is an exceptionally talented DJ and producer, creating emotive, genre-spanning cuts.

2.

He refuses to be pigeon-holed, turning out beautiful melodic house, reverberating techno and even alternative pop. “Diversity in music is the most important thing,” he claims. “The more colours you have in your palette, the more creative and interesting the results can be.”

3.

Tim has released music on some of the planet’s finest labels, including Dirtybird, Get Physical, Cocoon, Anjunadeep and All Day I Dream.

4.

While his career spans 15 years, his debut album – Her Future Ghost – only surfaced on Cocoon in 2018. Critics hailed it as “one of the most intriguing and unique albums of the year”.

5.

Lee Burridge is a fan. Tim debuted on Burridge’s All Day I Dream label with his Vacation to Life EP last year. His Moss EP followed on the label in May. Now an integral part of the label family, Tim plays at All Day I Dream parties around the world.

6.

Vacation to Life and Embre – Tim’s collaboration with Sébastien Léger – have notched up one million streams on Spotify.

7.

Tim has remixed the likes of Friendly Fires, Cassius, Booka Shade, Seth Troxler and Eelke Kleijn.

8.

After inviting some industry pals to rework their favourite track from his back catalogue, Tim has a new eight-track compilation album up his sleeve. It features remixes from Mathew Jonson, Lost Desert, Dave DK, Janus Rasmussen and more. The remix LP – In New Light – drops on 26 November. It will appear on Tim’s new label For a Memory.

9.

He teamed up with Izhevski to reinterpret his 2016 track Over The Water for the album. Tim describes the rework as “a groover but also quite emotional”.

10.

There’s every chance you’ll hear the reimagined version of Over The Water and more from the album when Tim plays at Escape on Thursday.

So there you have it. Plenty of good reasons why Escape should be top of your weekend plans. Bossman Bachir and Dubai’s ‘King of the Grooves’ Hoolz complete the DJ line-up. Oh, and the venue’s pretty special too. SoBe Dubai, in the W Hotel, is the only rooftop bar on the Palm Jumeirah. The music kicks off at 9pm and bookings are essential.
