Zero Gravity Celebrates its 8th Birthday with Sigala
We can’t wrap our heads around this. Zero Gravity is eight years old already! What’s more, it’s still punching. The Dubai beach club is as popular now as the day it opened. And that’s a huge achievement in a city where new competition pops up almost every week.
The venue celebrates its birthday, on Friday 26 November, with a special night brunch starring Sigala. The British DJ and producer is champion at creating pop-dance smashes, evidenced by his summer hit You For Me. A collaboration with Rita Ora and Charli XCX, the tracks features Sigala’s signature euphoric and happy vibes.
Gargantuan
Sigala is Norfolk lad Bruce Fielder. He rocketed to success with his gargantuan No.1 tropical house-inspired single Easy Love. Released in 2015 and sampling the Jackson 5, it spent 41 weeks in the UK charts. Frustrated working on other people’s music, the budding producer created Easy Love while under the influence of tequila! “I got some acapellas off a friend and he had all these crazy multi-tracks from old Jackson 5 songs. I had a few Desperados in my bedroom and started messing about with it all.”
The track’s No.1 success stunned Sigala – and his family. “It was mad. It was not my aim at all, I just wanted to pay the bills. My parents didn’t really believe me at first!”
Anthems
Now Sigala pops out a summer anthem every year. His 2016 smash Give Me Your Love featured John Newman and Nile Rodgers. He teamed up with Ella Eyre for 2017’s Came Here For Love. Paloma faith provided the vocals on 2018’s Lullaby. And Sigala called on Becky Hill twice for Wish You Well (2019) and Heaven On My Mind (2020).
Expect nothing but feel-good bangers when Sigala headlines One Big Birthday at Zero Gravity, on Friday. The all-inclusive night brunch runs from 9pm – 1am. It’s AED299 for ladies and AED349 for guys. Happy Birthday, ZG!
