Young Saudi Rock Artist SOVOL Drops Showcase EP

Fresh young rock artist SOVOL showcases his talent on his debut EP My Remedy. The seven-track release gives an insight into the Saudi-based singer-songwriter’s skills – and the outlook is promising. One of SOVOL’s first major musical projects as an artist, My Remedy EP tells musical and lyrical tales of emotions, vulnerabilities and deeply rooted feelings. It’s a big step forward for a kid who used to scribble lyrics when he was bored in the classroom.

SOVOL fell in love with music at an early age. Initially drawn to hip-hop and pop, he discovered rock as a teenager. He fed his newfound hunger for the genre by listening to several different rock bands before gravitating to the sounds of INXS, U2 and REM. Fascinated, SOVOL began playing around with a keyboard and writing lyrics in middle school.

Seek and Reflect

Around two years ago, SOVOL started taking music more seriously. Inspired by a quote he discovered in a book – “What you seek is within you, if only you reflect” – the youngster began penning lyrics for his EP. Across the seven tracks, SOVOL writes about self-discovery, plus his love and appreciation for music and loved ones.

The My Remedy EP packs SOVOL’s lush and shimmering guitar playing against his soothing vocals. On You Got Me Running, the singer-songwriter makes a nod to his Arabian roots and reflects on what drives him. Gone, on the other hand, was born out of “pure desperation and a search for answers” at a time when SOVOL claims he had lost faith in a lot of things. Listen to both tracks below.

My Remedy is available now via all the usual streaming platforms. Consider it a statement of intent. If SOVOL can create such work so early in his career he has a very promising future ahead. Show the kid some support.
