Ultraviolet Digital Music Festival Showcases Dubai’s Underground DJs
Of course we’d rather go to a music festival in person. With Covid-19 vaccines being rolled out here in the UAE and across the world, hopefully it won’t be much longer before we’re enjoying a proper festival fix on home turf or further afield. In the past year we’ve travelled the world to virtual festivals without spending a dirham. And that’s allowed us to check out DJs from all around the globe without leaving home. This weekend’s Ultraviolet – Brave New World digital music festival showcases Dubai’s underground DJs.
Across three days, Ultraviolet – Brave New World shines a light on underground DJs from Cairo, Dubai and Amsterdam. It’ll capture the deep house, melodic techno and organic, experimental sounds emanating from the cities.
Cairo
Kicking off at 5pm (UAE) today, Thursday 25th February, Ultraviolet – Brave New World zooms in on the Egyptian capital. Scene Noise and Cairo’s Yellow Tape Records present Egyptian Youth Centre for Electronic Music, with 10 hour-long streams from some of the brightest DJs and producers brought up in Egypt’s underground scene.
Dubai
Tomorrow, Friday 26th February, Ultraviolet – Brave New World turns the spotlight on Dubai. It swings the focus on Dubai’s Deep Tribe, UV Ravers and Syn7rome party crews. The Deep Tribe residents are up first between 1.30pm and 5.30pm. Here’s a little tip from us – don’t miss Milko Moustache’s set at 4.30pm. Also one half of Sunrise Syndicate, Deep Tribe resident Milko Moustache is one of Dubai’s most underrated DJs. You can check out the full Dubai line-up here.
Amsterdam
Ultraviolet – Brave New World rounds out its three-day digital festival in Amsterdam, on Saturday 27th February. This time it teams up with the city’s Click Records, NDSM Sessions, Undrgrnd Amsterdam and The Bas[s]ment. They’ll flaunt their handpicked DJs from 4.15pm (UAE).
