Masters At Work Turn Out Remix Package for Joseph Capriati

House greats Masters At Work remixing his music is a “dream come true” for DJ and producer Joseph Capriati. As Masters At Work, the legendary pairing of New York’s Louie Vega and Kenny Dope turned in six mixes of Capriati, Eric Kupper and Byron Stingily’s Love Changed Me.

“Masters At Work are the real first artists that inspired me in music since I was 11 years old,” said Capriati. A massive fan, the Italian DJ has collected the whole Masters At Work record catalogue. “I have a lot of respect for them professionally and personally,” he added.

House Bomb

Leading the remix collection is the Masters At Work Remix Vox Mix, a full-blown NYC house bomb. It douses Stingily’s vocal performance in reverb around piano licks and gliding pads as MAW’s inimitable drum work runs beneath. Listen to that mix below.

Package

The massive remix package continues with the MAW Rowdy Adlib Dub. Over powerful, clicky drums and dubbed-out stabs, the duo run the vocal track through a variety of off-kilter effects. The MAW Rowdy Dub strips the vocals down even more, accentuating the powerful production. And the MAW Bubble Bass Mix brings a jacking take, throwing heavily swung percussion alongside bubbling synth work.

Additionally, Vega and Dope provide a couple of instrumentals. The MAW Instrumental and MAW Bubble Bass Inst strip out Stingily’s performance for vocal-shy DJs. The remix package also includes the original cut from Capriati’s 2020 Metamorfosi album.

Interpretation

“We had a great time working on Love Changed Me,” said Vega and Dope. “It felt good to come back in the game as MAW. It’s a true musical pleasure to contribute to the new Joseph Capriati project. With dubs and vocal versions, there’s a Masters At Work interpretation for everyone.”

The six-mix package is out now on Redimension. It’s available digitally and across two 12” vinyl.
