By Joseph Capriati Stabbed: Father Arrested for Attempted Murder
DJ Joseph Capriati has been stabbed. Caserta News reports Capriati was allegedly stabbed by his father on Friday, 8th January, during an argument at home. His father has been arrested for attempted murder.
Caserta News reports Flying Squad police were alerted as the Italian DJ received urgent treatment at Sant’Anna e San Sebastiano Hospital, in Caserta, for a “severe chest injury”. The report adds: “From the investigations conducted by the agents, it was found that he had had a violent quarrel with the members of his family, at the height of which his father, holding a kitchen knife, had pierced him at the height of the upper chest, causing him serious life threatening injuries.”
Capriati, 33, usually lives in Spain. He’s been staying at his father’s house in Falciano di Caserta, Italy, while riding out the Covid-19 pandemic.
Following police investigations, Capriati’s father has been arrested. He is held at Santa Maria Capua Vetere prison.
Shock
Industry colleagues and fellow DJs expressed shock at the news via social media and wished Capriati a speedy recovery. Techno DJ Dave Clarke described Capriati as “one of the sweetest people in the music industry that I have hung out with.”
Capriati released his long-awaiting artist album Metamorfosi in September. Prior to its release, the DJ and producer said: “It is like giving my whole heart to all of you.”
On Sunday, 10th January, Carl Cox, who is close to Capriati, stated that the DJ was in a stable condition.
