Hitmaker Joel Corry Steams into The Penthouse in Dubai
The Joel Corry juggernaut steams back into Dubai this weekend. The British DJ and producer will rock Skyline Thursday at The Penthouse with his brand of chart-bothering dance anthems. With his career continuing to rocket, Corry has enjoyed another monumental year.
A Kiss FM resident, Joel Corry is a multi-BRIT Award nominated DJ and producer. He smashed into the UK charts in 2019 with platinum-selling single Sorry. The track spent 10 weeks in the UK Top 10, peaking at No.6. It was a taster of things to come. Corry followed through with Lonely before unleashing Head & Heart. A collaboration with MNEK, it shot right to the top spot and was the longest-running consecutive No.1 record of 2020. The track earned double platinum status.
Whirlwind
Corry has been no slouch this year either. His collaboration with Raye and David Guetta – BED – peaked at No.3. And he picked up three nominations at The BRIT Awards 2021. His summer was a whirlwind of sold-out shows during his weekly residency in Ibiza, and a string of UK festival dates. He also chalked up his first ever US tour. In August, Corry teamed up with fellow Brits Jax Jones and Charli XCX on Out Out. The track also features American rapper Saweetie. I Wish, featuring Mabel, followed in October.
Full Circle
Last month, Corry played at MTV’s EMA Awards in Budapest. It was a special moment for Corry. “Ten years ago I was an intern at MTV UK and worked as a runner at the EMAs in Belfast 2011,” he revealed at the time. “A decade later I just played the World Stage and I’m nominated for an EMA. Stepping on that stage felt like a full circle moment!” Corry’s relationship with MTV cameras got a little more personal this year. A camera crew followed the DJ and producer around for the MTV series Being Joel Corry.
