HeartWerk: The New Cowboy in Town Drops 5-Track Deep House EP
U Don’t Dance label boss HeartWerk hits the target with new release The Man Who Shot The Sheriff. Featuring five deep house cuts, the EP is out now on LA record label Low Recordings.
Claiming he was “super excited” to make the EP for Low, HeartWerk admits it took longer to produce than expected. “When we first talked about it I was like, ‘Oh yeah, I can crank that in like a month and a half’. It was the end of summer during the pandemic and for some reason I was hopeful,” he laughed.
“But this EP became an intense battle with myself,” he revealed. “Instead, it turned into six months of me battling myself during constant changes in my day to day. I’m super happy with how this turned out and it serves as a reminder that even when we get down, we can still giddie-up.”
Taking Aim
The Man Who Shot The Sheriff EP takes aim with There’s A New Cowboy In Town. On repeat here at iamCrü HQ, the track is all sultry pads, fluttering melodies and irresistible subs. Plans That Never Pan Out lays down vibrant rhythms fused delicately with soul-infused leads and graceful bass that reverberates underneath. Dreamy cut Oklahoma Corral combines sparkling synths, infectious grooves and divine atmospheres. Printing Clouds Above Us boasts organic field recordings that harmonise with soothing keys and celestial ambience. And rounding off the EP with pure energy, Still in Love focuses on effervescent, shuffling drums, resounding bass stabs and rolling vocal samples.
