Entertainment in Dubai Can Now Go On an Extra Hour Until 2am!
This is welcome news: entertainment in Dubai can now go on until 2am. That means we can hear more music this weekend. Entertainment activities in the Emirate were curbed to 1am back in September to help combat the spread of Covid-19.
Dubai’s Department of Tourism and Commerce Marketing (DTCM) is easing several of the measures imposed at the time. The updated measures apply to food and beverage venues (restaurants).
Return to the Stage
In a circular issued today, 10th December, DTCM announced that entertainment in restaurants can go on until 2am. There’s good news for musicians too. Full bands can also return to the stage – if they remain socially distanced.
Table capacity at restaurants is increased from eight to ten people so you can invite a couple more friends on your night out. And alcohol can now be served in bottles instead of disposable cups and tumblers.
Extended Sets
Clubbing as we know and love it is still on hold for now. DJs have been able to get back to work in venues with a restaurant licence serving food. Under the updated Covid-19 precautionary measures, DJs working in Dubai right now can play for an extra hour. Just in time for the weekend, this is another step in the right direction. Hopefully we’ll be busting some moves on the dancefloor and sticking our head in the bassbins soon.
