Dubai’s Groove on the Grass Heads to Goa for Holi Festival
Dubai’s Groove on the Grass will pop up in India later this month for a special festival over Holi weekend. It’s the award-winning festival’s first foray to Goa and the Groove team have selected a stunning location for the event.
A three-night event, Groove in Goa takes place at multi-level open-air beach venue Chronicle, at Vagator. Billed as “a music festival experience like no other”, headliners include Mind Against, Nastia, Cristoph, Denis Horvat and more.
Nastia
Techno queen Nastia fills the headline slot on Saturday 27th March. Late last year the Ukrainian DJ embarked on her audiovisual project ‘Scary Beautiful’. It’s a series of DJ sets filmed in less than glamourous locations. Through the project, Nastia showcases new music from up-and-coming producers. Check out her ‘Scary Beautiful’ set from Chernobyl’s Duga Radar below.
Cristoph and Denis Horvat
On Sunday 28th March, Cristoph and Denis Horvat share headlining duties. Newcastle-based DJ and producer Christoph has released tracks on a number of impressive labels. Think Pryda Presents, Bedrock, Last Night on Earth and Anjunadeep, to name a few. After turning in an Essential Mix for Pete Tong earlier this year, Christoph collaborated with Franky Wah and Artche. The end result is The World You See.
Copenhagen-based DJ and producer Denis Horvat DJed in the Dubai desert recently for Creative State. He’s released music on Innervisions, Afterlife and Diynamic. Horvat also runs his own label Vokabularium.
Mind Against
Groove in Goa ends on a high note. Mind Against – Italian siblings Alessandro and Federico Fognini – close out the festival on Monday 29th March. Nurtured by influential labels Life and Death and Afterlife, their output is critically acclaimed. Heavyweights in the scene from Moby to Dominik Eulberg call upon the brothers’ outstanding remix skills. Their remix of Monolink’s track The Prey is out now. Check it out below.
Award-Winning
Held within the grounds of Emirates Golf Club, Groove on the Grass brings a cool alternative to Dubai’s nightlife scene. Since its launch in 2012, more than 150 cutting-edge electronic artists have made their Dubai debut at the award-winning festival.
Now Groove in Goa extends the festival’s unique vibe into India. Locals there will soon be dancing in the sand under a constellation of stars to top-notch sounds delivered by a wicked line-up. Jealous much? Yes, we are. And roll on the day when the new Groove on the Grass season kicks off in Dubai too.
