By Dubai-based DJ and producer Bachir Salloum is impressing fans the world over – with two chart-topping tracks within one month! Released recently, Limitless rocketed to the No.1 spot in Beatport’s Top 100 Organic House/Downtempo Chart. His Everything is Now EP climbed to the same position in May. “It’s mind-blowing,” said Bachir. “I am so grateful to receive such amazing support.”
Invaluable
The Limitless EP is out on Miami-based imprint Do Not Sit on the Furniture. Label boss and legendary US DJ Behrouz handpicked Limitless for release. “Having his support is invaluable,” said Bachir. “When an artist like Behrouz believes in your music, it’s testament that you’re doing something right. Every emerging artists dreams of having that level of support and backing.”
“I’ve always been a fan of the Do Not Sit label,” said Bachir. “I’ve met Behrouz a few times through his gigs in Dubai so I reached out and shared my music. The response was immediately positive and here we are. I hope this won’t be my last release on the label. I would love to come back again next year with some fresh, new sounds.”
Showcase
The Limitless EP features the stunning, otherworldly title track and the equally impressive Nebula. Bachir produced both tracks after he was invited to put together a Balance Selections mix for the revered Australian label. “I was so excited by the opportunity,” he remembers. “I knew the mix had to be unique and truly showcase my sound. So I produced Limitless and Nebula at the same time, with the intent that Limitless would be the intro track for the set. That’s why Limitless is a 12-minute journey – to lure you in.” Listen to Limitless below.
Quality
Raised on Beirut’s famed club scene, Bachir Salloum moved to Dubai in 2014. His sound captures his love of progressive house and deep house with shades of tech house. After early support from Hernan Cattaneo, Bachir is rapidly establishing himself as a quality producer. He’s released tracks on Balance, Sudbeat, Juicebox Music and Akbal Music.
Pipeline
There’s more music to come from Bachir this year with tracks for Stripped Recordings and Balance in the pipeline. His debut NFT release, Days That Belong, will be available on Pianity on 21 June. “The pandemic has been a blessing for me in many ways,” said Bachir. “It gave me the opportunity to put my head down and just fully focus on my music.”
What’s more, Bachir is planning to open SAWT Music Academy in the very near future. The music production academy will offer online and physical classes in both Arabic and English. “I’m so excited for what’s to come,” grinned Bachir.
