Biemsix Drops Debut Artist Album on Techno Boss Ben Sims’ Label

It’s all systems go at Ben Sims’ Symbolism label. Hot on the heels of the label’s first compilation comes the debut artist album from Biemsix. The Italian producer’s Find Your Own Meaning LP is the first artist album to drop on Sims’ long-running techno imprint. Out now, the album boasts 14 tracks of melody infused techno and electronica.

Counting Jeff Mills, Ryan Elliott and James Ruskin as fans, Biemsix is no newcomer. The DJ and producer – real name Marco Bianchino – has released tracks on a variety of labels, including Invite’s Choice, Enemy Records, Thema and Sims’ Symbolism Ltd and Machine imprints.

Emotive

On Find Your Own Meaning, Biemsix takes classic Detroit techno and IDM influences and delivers emotive, evocative tracks straight from the off. Peeps, No Matter When and Gonna Remember are minimalist, melancholic and introspective, while Amsterdam, Chemistry and The Payback provide fully charged disruptive and dynamic grooves.

Techno veteran Sims is “really happy” to see the Biemsix album released on his label. “The project has been incredibly delayed at every stage, which has been hugely frustrating, but the music is superb.” Listen to album track Gonna Remember below.

Modern 4:4 Techno

Sims’ Symbolism label released its first compilation album just last month. The first of two volumes, Synchronicity Part One boasts 20 tracks. A broad palette of modern 4:4 techno, the comp couples established producers with emerging talent. The album traverses from Gabriella Vergilov’s heady house to the funk-laced rawness of Black Girl/White Girl. Anika Kunst, Rectør and Annē come good with slick, peak hour grooves. Hemissi, Elyas and Joaquin Ruiz turn in intense, fever dream sounds. Industrialyzer and Antony Doria deliver unabashed kickers, Cailín drops a slab of grinding pressure and NDR turns the dial to trippy.

“Symbolism’s releases have been rolling out monthly for the past year or so,” said label boss Sims. “I’m really happy with how the label is sounding, how it’s being received and who is involved. The first part of this release has 20 tracks from some proper talents in techno and is a perfect snapshot of the scene at the moment.

Synchronicity Part Two will follow late summer.
