Argy Turns to Producer Pals and Peers for Remix Packages

After showcasing a sweeping range of production prowess on his The Interior Journey album, DJ and producer Argy turns to pals and peers for the remix packages. Created as Argy experienced “an inner-transformation” during lockdown and his first release in two years, the nine-track album was released in May. Underscoring his determination not to be pinned down to one genre, it flits from infectious grooves and Balearic beats to techno with psy-trance influences. “It’s the soundtrack of a personal renaissance,” said Argy. “I’ve released many albums in the past, but this really felt like I was making my first album for the second time.”

Depth and Quality

Now comes the first of three Interior Journey Remix EPs after Argy invited highly respected artists to take on various album tracks. “I had real fun reaching out to producers, both friends and colleagues,” said Argy. “The response was incredible; everyone we asked more or less got onboard so the upshot is a portfolio of reinterpretations with real depth and quality. Part 1 is very fitting because it lays down a real statement of what’s to come.”

First-up, Italian king of all things indie, Whitesquare takes on High Priest. His remix turns Argy’s collaboration with And.ID into a perfect summer house anthem. Listen to Whitesquare’s interpretation below.

Deep and Dramatic

The EP takes a deeper but no less dramatic turn with Aera, who twists The Third Degree into an infectious techno monster. With its menacing choral chants, this has already worked its way into Solomun’s recent DJ sets. “Both these remixes will hopefully bring joy to dancefloors around the world and I couldn’t be happier with them,” said Greek-born Argy. Check out Aera’s remix below.

Milestone

The first Interior Journey Remix EP is out now on Renaissance, which celebrates 30 years in the game next year. The much-loved brand is already planning a series of special events to mark its milestone year. We expect DJ and producer Argy will be a key player in those plans.
